RESOUNDworship.org - new worship songs

"Thoughtful and thought-provoking, active and action-provoking, pastoral and compassionate… It is refreshingly witty, challenges misconceptions, naming and shaming a few taboos on the way; this book is God-centred: Theo-logical, using Bible not as a textbook to analyse or dissect but as a living account of God with us… It keeps forgetting it’s a book on worship and keeps spilling over into God in us affecting the world around us!  Oh… maybe that’s what worship is supposed to do???  I’m placing an advance order for me, our leadership and the music in worship teams for starters!"
Geraldine Latty, Worship Leader, Songwriter.

“In both substance and style, the book is great. You offer solid use of the biblical text, showing good awareness of pertinent issues.  You also ground your comments in a solid theological understanding of worship, both theory and practice; then you have great practical insights and suggestions. I  can see this being a very welcome and valuable resource.”
Chris Jack, lecturer in Theology of Worship, London School of Theology.

How Would Jesus Lead Worship?

by Sam and Sara Hargreaves

To be published by BRF in Feb ’09 (preorder your copy from brf.org.uk now) this book considers worship from the fresh angle of how Jesus leads and inspires our worship. Firstly, how is it that Jesus makes it possible for us to join him in praising the Father, by the Spirit?  It explores topics like the Trinity and the Incarnation in worship, and is based around the book of Hebrews.

The second (larger) section focuses on Jesus’ life in Luke, asking how we can be inspired to lead worship in a Christ-like way.  It holds the tensions between four sets of values - ministering as

Humble Servants, whilst also being

Leaders with Authority, and developing our skills as

Creative Communicators, whilst being

Reliant on the Spirit.

Informal, engaging and fun, it invites you to experience worship with Jesus at the centre through practical ideas and activities, whilst always wanting to go deeper and ask some of the hard questions.  It springs from our training at London School of Theology, and our practical experience of developing worship amongst youth and young adults.  It is intentionally aimed at anyone wanting to go deeper and broader in worship in a local church context, whether they be a church leader, worship team member or passionate congregation member.

We will be sharing material and modeling the principles of this book on our How Would Jesus Worship Tour.  These Friday evenings will feature worship led by our band, multimedia and interaction.  We will experience together more of Jesus as he leads and inspires our worship of the Father, by the Spirit.

Admission is free, if you would like flyers to promote this in your church or other networks please email us.
