One Came Back
A poem based on the story of the ten lepers, only one of whom came back to thank Jesus when they were healed. It encourages us to consider our own gratitude.

There had been ten,
ten who needed his help:
One came back.
Ten who prayed heartfelt prayers,
ten who went away rejoicing:
One came back.
Ten who had their prayers answered,
ten with a fresh start:
One came back
to say thank you.
When we need help
we often cry out.
When things go wrong
we often cry out.
When we are in need
we often cry out...
