Palm Sunday interactive reading
This is a fun, interactive version of the Palm Sunday story. It involves splitting up the congregation into different groups, and giving them specific actions to do.
Extract from the script:
After Jesus had said these things, he went up to Jerusalem. When he got close to Bethpage and Bethany, at a place called The Mount of Olives, he called two of his disciples and gave them the following orders:
"Go into the village, up ahead. When you get there, you will find a young donkey (young donkey group - put hands at side of head as ears, wiggle ears and say "hee-haw") that has never been ridden. It will be tied up. So you need to untie it and bring it to me.
If the owner asks you (donkey owner group - hands on hips, or scratching head, "Why are you untying my donkey?"), simply tell him (two disciples group - shrug shoulders and say, "The Lord needs it.")".
The disciples did as Jesus told them. They went into the village. They found the young donkey (young donkey group - put hands at side of head as ears, wiggle ears and say "hee-haw"). And they started to untie it. But, as they did so, the owner came up to them and asked, (donkey owner group - hands on hips, or scratching head, "Why are you untying my donkey?")...
