Sam and Gemma contributed to this new album from Resound Worship. The songwriting collective took hymn lyrics from Jubilate Hymns and set them to fresh new tunes. This involved seasoned Resound writers and new people who we've met through the 12 Song Challenge.

The album was then recorded in two days, live and lo-fi. We used no in-ears or screens, but focused around a top trio of Mark Edwards (piano), Matt Weeks (bass) and Tom Hooper (drums) and captured them live. This was lifted by some great lead vocals from folks like Freddie Kofi and Eve Dawson. Gemma sang lead vocals on a number of tracks (check out her stunning work on "God Of All Comfort") and Sam contributed guitar, as well as the opening two tracks of the album "All Who Are Thirsty" and "Sing a Hymn".

The team wanted the hymns to have an authentic, congregational feel, complete with creaks from the piano pedal and the occasional rumble of a passing lorry. The resulting recording captures the vibrancy and intimacy of the sound of worshippers together.

You can also stream the music on Spotify and your usual other services, although bear in mind that streaming never really supports musicians, so if you can purchase the album or any of the resources it does go a long way to helping Resound make more music in the future.
