Spring Harvest 2018 Report
As always, we loved being at Spring Harvest. This year we headed up the PrayerHouse in Skegness. We created a set of prayer stations based around the book of James called "Prayer: Powerful & Effective". You can download the posters and get all the info. We also ran morning prayer meetings and Creative Prayer sessions - see some of our guests getting creative below:
We also joined Jeremy and Angela Perigo and the London School of Theology band to help lead worship in the Encounter evening celebration. We sang a number of songs from the Songs For Sundays album, as well as joining Joel Payne from RESOUNDworship to run a seminar on that project. Angela led Sara's Romans 12 interactive reading on night 2.
On day 3 we led a workshop on "Varied Ways to Pray". Here are some of the things we referenced:
- Posture - Hand prayers
- Intercession through song - O come, O come Emmanuel
- Silence - Centring Prayer (this and other contemplative ideas in our Simple Worship book)
- Writing prayer around Scripture - Journalling, scribble sheets: Colossians 1, 1 Timothy 2, Psalm 22
- Lament - an all age idea from our Worship in the Wilderness resource
- Using set prayers - Northumbria Community, www.sacredspace.ie, Pray As You Go
- Using images - unsplash.com, Lutopia, Unsplashiality
