Colossians 3:1-4 Interactive Reading
This is a fun, all-age interactive reading based on the Message version of Colossians 3:1-4.
Extract from the script:
Before beginning this, teach the congregation to make the sign-language for Jesus every time they hear the word “Christ” (push right forefinger into the palm of left hand, then push left forefinger into palm of right hand). The rest of the actions you can explain as you go - you might want to do this once as a practice and then the second time as the “real thing”.
So if you’re serious [serious face, stroke chin] about living this new resurrection life with Christ [Jesus sign language], act like it.
Pursue the things over which Christ [Jesus sign language] rules.
Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, [shuffle along eyes to the ground] absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, [look up, put hand up] and be alert to what is going on around Christ [Jesus sign language] — that’s where the action is.
See things from his perspective. [make glasses with hands]
Your old life is dead. [stab chest, make ergh sound] Your new life, which is your real life [do jazz hands and say “ta-dah!”] — even though invisible to spectators [cover your eyes] — is with Christ in God. [Jesus sign language]...
