Interactive reading: Luke 24:36-49
Here's an interactive reading of Luke 24:36-49; Jesus appearing to his disciples after his resurrection (it comes straight after the Emmaus story - that's the event the disciples are talking about in the first line of the passage).
One of the main points of this text seems to be the physicality of Jesus' risen body. The disciples thought they saw a ghost, but Jesus makes sure that they get to see his scars and to watch him eat.
To underline this message, we wanted to get the congregation involved physically. We've therefore highlighted various words as part of the text which can easily be acted out.
We had a confident child reading the text, and the congregation engaged with the actions without needing too much encouragement. If your congregations needs more guidance, you might need one or two people near the front who are happy act along in an enthusiastic manner.
