Before I Grew You - poem from Jeremiah 1
This is a great poem inspired by Jeremiah 1:4-10. It could be used as part of a Bible reading, a reflection after a talk, or potentially even as part of a dedication or commissioning service.
Extract from the poem:
Before I grew you in your mother's womb, I knew you.
Before you bawled your first newborn cry, I called you.
To be my prophet. To speak my word. To the nations.
So what, if you are just a boy?
So what, if you can't find the words?
Just go to whom I send you.
Just pass on what I tell you.
Before I grew you in your mother's womb, I knew you.
Before you bawled your first newborn cry, I called you.
To be my prophet. To speak my word. To the nations.
So what, if you are just a boy?
So what, if you can't find the words?
Do not fear, for I am with you.
Do not fear, for I will save you...
